I highly recommend this book for parents and children as it speaks to both. I learned about this book from an interview with the author.
This is very well written and a great way to introduce children to the love of God and to Jesus.
Vernon McGee's statement that, "If you put the cookies jar on the bottom shelf where the kids can reach it, the parents will get it, too." The author is a masterful theologian himself and yet conveys truth in a solid and engaging way. It reminds me of J. I am so glad to have discovered this book which was reccommended by Michael Easley on his program, "In Context." This is a well presented, beautifully illustrated book. It has a very an extremely helpful, kid-friendly glossary in the back of the book explaining many theological topics.
I think this will be a very good book to read to my grandchildren. I think this book correctly tells in overview form the message that God wants an eternal relationship with us starting here on earth. He is in control and has had a plan since before there was time.
Children will be able to get a sense of the big picture of Revelation, having a new frame of reference for all the little pictures they see when the many and diverse biblical stories come before their eyes. Boyd addresses this need for children in a thoughtful and powerful way. Really enjoyed this book. Most adults-- never mind kids-- don't have a sense of how the bits and pieces of the Bible fit together into an integrated whole.
